Standish Styling Opticians is an independent practice in the middle of the village, with a warm and relaxed welcome and qualified people at every step.
Why Standish
Standish keeps growing, with new homes and new businesses putting the village on the map. We opened here to serve the people of Standish, and beyond.
Our interior and the way we work fit the kind of places that already make the village special: the boutiques, patisseries, florists, beauticians, bars, cafés and restaurants. We'd like to add to the feeling that Standish is somewhere you come to, not just somewhere you pass through on the way into town.
Your visit starts with a thorough 40-minute eye examination. Then you can enjoy a drink from our bar while one of our eyewear stylists helps you choose lenses from Zeiss or Tokai, and frames that suit you.
Our sister practices
We're part of a small group of independent practices: Barnes Hazel Opticians, Hepworth and Hall Opticians and Alan Bowen Optometrists. It means there's a wider team of opticians behind us when you need one.
Ophthalmic opticians
Sue Greaves
Sue has been an optometrist for over 30 years and has worked in various local practices, including as a locum for our sister practices.
Rachael Finch
Rachael completed her masters in optometry at Manchester University and works as a locum optician for us and our sister practices.
Ryan Stockley
Ryan graduated from the University of Bradford in 2019 and moved from a large chain to independent practice in August 2023. Born and bred in Standish.

Toni graduated from the University of Manchester in 2011 and is a dedicated local optician who enjoys providing top quality eye care to the community.
Eyewear stylists
Adrian Baxendale
Adrian started in optics in 1993, qualified as a dispensing optician and holds a Contact Lens Certificate. He runs our specialist clinics for contact lenses and dry eye, and is certified in colorimetry. Co-director.
David Gleave
David completed his Foundation Degree in Ophthalmic Dispensing in 2010 and is a fully qualified dispensing optician. He works with the luxury brands we stock. Co-director.

Jackie has worked in optics since 1995, specialising in customer service and frame styling. Co-director.
Liza Baxendale
Liza joined optics when the practice opened, bringing years as a teacher and a love of the creative arts to helping you choose frames.
