Emergency eye appointments

When to call us

We can see you for an emergency appointment if you have:

• Sudden eye pain
• Something in your eye
• Blurred vision, or a change in your vision
• Part of your vision blocked or obscured

If we can't see you here

We'll always try to see you straight away in Standish. If none of our ophthalmic opticians is free, we can contact our sister practices to get you seen by an optician at the earliest possible time.

If you need more than an optician

Sometimes an emergency appointment shows that you need further medical care, from your GP or a hospital. Your optician will tell you if that's the case and what to do.

If you've had a serious injury to your eye or suddenly lost your sight, get help straight away through NHS 111, or call 999 or go to A&E.
